CHAMBER POP COMES TO LONDON IN JUNE 2003
Los Angeles "Chamber Pop" Music/Composer Joel Pelletier Makes European Debut Performing A Series Of Dates In London Clubs
Los Angeles, California, USA (12 June 2003) - Combining Beatle-esque pop songs with 18th-20th century classical music and arrangements, indie singer/songwriter/composer/arranger Joel Pelletier will perform his first set of European performances at venues in London, UK (with possible shows in Paris TBA) in late June 2003. Accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, along with a local London-based string quartet (including members of London band Grace), Joel will peform songs from his 1999 CD "CHAMBER POP", as well as material he is preparing for his next recording, "CHAMBER POP: (REAL) TIME." London venues will include 9:00 PM 25 June at The Bedford, 8:30 PM 27 June at 12 Bar Club, and 3 sets on Sunday, June 29: 6 and 7:30 PM (2 sets) 29 June at Bartok (a classical music-themed club), and 10:15 PM 29 June at Big Note at The Hope and Anchor, Islington.
Joel will be available for interviews and appearances while in London (from 25-30 June) and Paris (30 June-4 July). While in London he will also be meeting with UK/Europe-based booking agents interested in booking a full CHAMBER POP tour in the Fall-Winter 2003 (which will include Joel on basses, a guitarist, drummer and string section), as well as labels interested in licensing "CHAMBER POP" and future recordings for UK/European distribution. Joel Pelletier is an independent musician, composer and multimedia artist living in Los Angeles, CA. His "CHAMBER POP" music is influenced by both classical and pop styles ranging from the Beatles to Bartok, while his lyrics combine the personal with social and ethical topics. He performs either with a string quartet (as vocalist/guitarist) or with his 7-piece Chamber Pop Ensemble (as vocalist/bassist) with guitar, drums, a string section and the 3-part harmonies featured throught his pop music. Joel is preparing a new, "live-to-5.1" Chamber Pop project entitled "(REAL) TIME", and his website, JOELP.COM, features free MP3 files of all of his previously recorded music.
