Modern Flashbacks Demo
(song excerpts, MP3)

The Modern Flashbacks are back! Originally formed in 1990, the band is a 3-piece vocal and instrumental band, performing classic popular dance music, primarily 60's - early 70's pop and psychedelic pop from America and the British Invasion. They are each lead vocalists as well as accomplished professional instrumentalists, and produce a large, full sound with extensive 3-part harmonies. Combined with a large repetoire of familiar dance material and heavily rehearsed arrangements, they are able to carry any sized room, venue or crowd, from intimate clubs and private parties to corporate events, weddings and outdoor festivals.

The band is:

Joel Pelletier (Vocals, Bass), a 14-year Los Angeles music-scene veteran, and founding member of The Modern Flashbacks, has fronted and performed with numerous cover and original bands. In LA since 1988, he currently also fronts his own original pop/rock project, and holds a degree in music from Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford, CT.

Dave Hill (Vocals, Guitar) has been performing professionally in Los Angeles for many years, playing rock, pop, jazz and fusion styles. He has also toured the United States, and is on the faculty of GIT at The Musician's Institute in Hollywood.

Dan Marfisi (Vocals, Drums), born and raised in Reno, Nevada, worked his way through school in the Reno/Tahoe show orchestras. Since moving to LA he has toured and recorded with POE, Lowen and Navarro, Harry Dean Stanton, The Turtles and The Modern Flashbacks. Since the mid-1990's he has become an in-demand producer of indie label rock bands.

The Modern Flashbacks have a large repertoire of material, and perform up to 3 sets nightly. Audiences regularly complement their unique songlist, and the band constantly hears the phrase "I love that song, and I've NEVER heard a band play it live!" Some of their songs include:
