The Who Show LIVE VIDEO DEMO (2008)

The Who Show 2008 2008 demo (from 3/22/08 OC Pavilion performance).

New! Minute Song (from Chamber Pop: (Real) Time 5.1 Demo Session, March 2002)
A demo recording session for my new "album," tentatively entitled "Chamber Pop: (Real) Time," was held on March 17th, 2002. My band (Brian Patridge and Kate Lewis), engineer Brian Soucy, and 11 local pro string players donated an afternoon to help test the 5.1 recording gear I have been accumulating over the last two years. The session was also shot on DV by local videographer Jeff Daly, and after the final takes were decided on I folded down the 5.1 audio to CD-quality stereo and edited the video footage. Each track was recorded and mixed entirely LIVE, with no post-mixing or fixing. The video is a combination of the master track shot for the particular take, along with inserts at other angles from alternate takes. Posted here (so far) is the video of the shortest of the four songs, Minute Song. I am working on DVD authoring to produce a DVD demo with all 4 live takes, including 5.1 AND stereo 24/48 audio tracks (switchable with the DVD remote), and will be posting more of the DVD content soon.

Most of the videos below are included on my 30 minute VHS promo video (go to support for yours)...

Chamber Pop? (Real Video 28.8/33.6 (160x120) | 56 (160x120) | DSL/Cable Modem (160x120)), a video description with clips of performances with different ensembles, including a string quartet, and acoustic pop trio, an acoustic and electric pop band, and an large ensemble including them all.

"Touch"(Real Video 28.8/33.6 (160x120) | 56 (160x120) | DSL/Cable Modem (360x240)), my first self-directed "concept video" (with cinematography by Hiroki Miyano), shot in 16mm b/w, illustrating not only the mood of the song, but 'touching' as a way of communicating erotic and platonic love.
D2, Beta SP and VHS versions of "Touch" (NTSC or PAL) are available for industry/media broadcast and viewing.

"Sinus Video" is an autobiographical video "essay" of my sinus surgery, performed on October 1999 by Marc Kerner, MD. (Real Video DSL/Cable Modem stream (320x240) | download (8 MB) | download (22 MB, better audio quality but same video quality)). Think of it as one of those surgery shows you see on cable all the time, but with an attitude (and the auc=dio not QUITE in sync with the video, but I've seen that on the cable shows, too). If you've sufferred from bad sinuses all of your life, you MUST see this; if you haven't, it's still funny and informative. Warning - it's a bit bloody (but not nearly as much as open heart surgery - where's Dana Carvey's video?), and if you have a nasal/booger phobia, pass on this one. Now I know what I look like unconscious - do you?

CBS News aired a story on MPEG3 music and the Internet featuring an interview with me, this website and a live performance of "Birthday Song" (Real Video 28.8/33.6 (160x120) | 56 (160x120) | DSL/Cable Modem (320x240)). The story originally aired on Sunday evening, 22 November 1998, then repeated in continous feeds overnight, the next day on the CBS Morning show, and even in Great Britain thru SKY 1.
Focusing on the music industry and the RIO MPEG3 player, it opens and closes with my live performance of "Birthday Song," recorded at Petterson's 30 October 1998, and includes portions of an interview taped before the performance, shots of this website, and clips of an MPEG version of "Birthday Song." Correspondent: Vince Gonzoles, CBS News.
